Sidebar Tabs Overview
The sidebar gathers all of VoyagePilot's toolboxes into 11 tabs: from the climate atlas to route optimisation, and on through safety, fishing and emergency navigation.
Where to find it
Right-hand side of the screen (bottom on mobile / small screens). The row of icons at the top of the panel switches between tabs.

How the sidebar works
Switching tabs
What it's for: Move between the 11 toolboxes without leaving the chart. How to use it: 1. Find the row of icons at the top of the right-hand panel. 2. Click an icon: the active tab turns gold (text and underline) on a lighter background. 3. Hover an icon to reveal its name and a short description. Tips & limits: - On a small screen the icon row scrolls horizontally; drag to reach the tabs on the right. - Some actions switch tabs automatically (e.g. enabling ship detection opens the Detection tab; opening a shared route opens the Routes tab).
Collapse / show the sidebar
What it's for: Free up the full screen width for the chart. How to use it: 1. Click the "Hide sidebar" icon to the right of the tab row to fold the panel away. 2. Once folded, a "Show sidebar" button appears at the top-right of the chart to reopen it. Tips & limits: Enabling the camera picture-in-picture (PiP) overlay automatically folds the sidebar for a full-screen chart.
Light mode / dark mode
What it's for: Match the interface to ambient light. The dark (navy) theme is the default. How to use it: Click the sun/moon icon in the top bar to toggle. The base map switches to light (OSM) or dark depending on the theme. Tips & limits: Your choice is remembered between sessions.
Night mode (red)
What it's for: Preserve night vision at the helm with a red tint and reduced brightness. How to use it: Click the dedicated icon in the top bar. The icon turns red while the mode is active. Options & settings: Fine-tune the night brightness from the Conf tab. Tips & limits: Turning night mode on disables light mode (the two are mutually exclusive).

Note on badges: the gold badge on Routes shows the number of saved routes (hidden when there are none). The Safety badge shows "1" when a grounding risk is detected.
